You Are Doing 3 Things Every Single Day That Are Destroying Your Memory & Setting You Spiraling Down the Path Straight Towards Dementia:
Keep Listening to Find Out Exactly What These 3 Things Are and How to HELP Repair the Damage You've Already Done to Your Brain...
If you’re over 40 and are afraid your memory isn’t as good as it used to be, you need to stop whatever it is that you are doing and pay attention to me right now…
Have you noticed your memory slipping and finding it harder and harder to recall words or names?
If so, you’re not alone. If you are 40 years old or older, you may already feel the frustrations of forgetting where you left your keys or repeatedly forgetting why you walked into a room…
You may know the embarrassment of forgetting a thought in the middle of a sentence or the aggravation of not being able to focus for more than 30 seconds at a time…
You probably ask yourself is this normal, age related memory loss... or something much more serious? Unfortunately, the terrifying symptoms of dementia start with mild memory loss. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Hi. I’m Julia Lundstrom, a neuroscience and brain health educator and best selling author of my book, The Brain Owners Owner’s Manual: 3 Simple Solutions for Quickly Boosting Your Memory.
I now travel around the country speaking to different groups on how to improve their brain health, and specifically, their memory.
My mission is to help over 1 million people boost their memories.
See, you do not have to accept a failing memory as a natural part of getting older. There are hundreds scientific studies that PROVE, without a doubt, that you can improve your memory naturally and help stave off dementia.
Without paying for expensive prescription drugs or playing memory games that have been proven not to work.
In the next few minutes, I’m going to teach you:
- how to get more done in less time by being more focused
- how to better decisions and solve problems better and faster
- have a memory like you are 20 years younger
- how to help stave off dementia.
I’m going to give you everything you need to fix your memory problems.
You probably feel like your memory isn’t functioning as well as it used to be or as well as it should, and you’re right.
Your brain matured at age 25.
Around 35, your brain started to shrink… your neurons die, your blood vessels wither and your communication highways deteriorate at a rate of .5% a year.
That may not sound like very much, but that’s 10% of your brain and memories GONE by the time you are 55.20% of your cognition and abilities gone by the time your 75.
This is so predictable that a neuroscientist can guess your age just by looking at your MRI. When it comes to your brain, size does matter. A smaller brain means poorer cognitive performance.
It makes you less focused and slower in solving problems and even planning for the future.
Eventually, it makes you slower in walking and talking and making decisions. It makes you it difficult to remember names, a thought in the middle of a sentence or why you walked into a room.
We all are born with 8 cylinder engines.
Some, like your rocket scientists and high performance athletes, can get to a 12 cylinder engine – a formula 1 car. But the VAST majority of people are operating on 4 cylinders – not anywhere close to their full potential.
Is this you?
If so, stay with me. You need to stop doing these 3 things that I’m about to teach you or risk accelerating your brain loss.
So let's jump right in..
The #1 Habit Your Need To Stop Doing Today That Is Destroying Your Memory
This first habit is very dear to me as I recently had a baby at 42 years old.
And that’s not enough sleep.
As we get older, we have more and more issues with sleep. Either you can’t fall asleep at night because you’re so revved up…
Or you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back asleep…
Or you wake up every morning at 6 am no matter WHAT time you fall asleep. You need 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
The average American gets 6.
One study out of John Hopkins shoed a direct link between a lack of sleep and a buildup of a beta-amyloid
– a toxic protein that builds up and forms the plaques that cause Alzheimer’s disease.
Even worse, another study on 470,000 people showed that those that slept 6 hours or fewer a night have a 48% great chance of getting and/or dying from a heart attack and a 15% greater chance of getting and/or dying from a stroke.
What happens in your brain when you sleep?
You can think of your brain as a big city. During the day, every time you have a thought or feeling or do an action, a little bit of trash accumulates in your brain’s communication highways.
When you sleep at night, the street sweepers and cleaning crews come out and clean up the roads and sidewalks, wash the windows and fix the potholes.
When you don’t get enough sleep at night, your brain starts to look a little like San Francisco… a beautiful city, but pretty dirty.
After decades of a lack of sleep, it looks like a 3rd world country and you’re going to need a bulldozer to get it clean.
Sleep is everything to me and I put it before everything, even eating right and working out.
And I haven’t been sick in over 4 years because of it. Every time I start to feel just a little tickle in my throat or my sinuses tighten, I go take a nap and I don’t get sick.
So, what are your solutions to not being able to sleep?
Well, as a very short term solution, you can use sleeping pills. But, they have the exact same side effects as a poor night of sleep – Groggy, foggy brain, anxiousness, mental slowness and long term, they make it harder to fall asleep.
So here are some real fixes. They may take longer to work than a sleeping pill, but they’re a long term solution.
I like to say that sleep is the one thing in life that the harder you try, the more likely you are to fail.
So, don’t try to fall asleep, try to stay awake. Stare at a dot on a wall and try to keep your eyes open, like back in your school days when you were trying to hard not to fall asleep in class.
The next thing is one that most of us know already, but don’t follow – Do not lie in bed frustrated. Your brain works on associations so if your bed is a stressful place, you won’t be able to sleep well.
Your bed should only be used for sleep and sex.
Get up after 30 minutes - it takes the average woman 22 minutes to fall asleep – a full 10 minutes longer than men - and go do something calm like listen to some soft music.
Next, don’t have a clock or your phone next to you. Looking at the time only increases your level of the stress chemical, cortisol, in your brain and makes it harder to fall asleep.
Cool your room down to 60-67 degrees. Our bodies natural cool when we sleep so you can manipulate this process by making the room cool.
The last thing is if you’re anxious or distressed at bedtime, the best medicine may be a face full of ice-cold water. When you’re in a full-on state, your nervous system desperately needs to be reset to help you calm down.
Submerging your face in a bowl of cold water triggers an involuntary phenomenon called the Mammalian Dive Reflex, which lowers your heart rate and blood pressure. Then it’s off to bed with a soothed system.
Or course, cut out alcohol, don’t drink anything 2 hours before bed, have a bedtime routine and do some deep breathing.
The last thing you can do for a good, restful night is actually the next thing you need to start doing in your life if you aren’t already for your brian health….
And that’s meditation.
Meditation isn’t voodoo science anymore. There are over 1,800 different scientific studies on the benefits of meditation.
It creates real, biological changes to the actual structure of your brain. It grows your brain.
Studies show that meditation significantly increases the blood flow to your brain after just 8 weeks.
Researchers have found that the average thickness of the cortex – the area of higher brain functions like thought and actions – of 50-year old meditator’s brains were similar to that of 20-year old’s!
When you meditate you have:
- Faster response times
- Notable improvements in mood
- Less anxiety and stress
- Less fatigue
Your brain has different brain waves and just like you need to exercise for your heart, you need to exercise going between these different brain wave states.
First, you have gamma, which is the brain wave state of being in ‘flow’. You hear your super athletes talk about being in flow when they perform at their best.
Then you have beta, which is a high performance, high stress state. This is your go go go state and where you spend most of your waking hours.
Then, you have alpha, which is your calm, creative state. This is the state where you are going to make your best decisions and have your best ideas.
It is where you want to go when you meditate.
Then you have theta, which is the state between awake and asleep. This is where Buddhist monks go when they meditate.
Finally, you have delta, which is your sleep state.
Staying in high beta all day, like most of us do, is causing a build of the stress chemical cortisol.
And this is VERY bad for your memory. See, your memory center produces a chemical that fights cortisol.
But if you have too much cortisol in your brain, over time it actually eats away at your memory center so it can’t produce enough of the cortisol fighting chemical. From there, it is a downward spiral.
And, cortisol causes inflammation in the brain – the root of most diseases.
When you meditate, you are reducing the amount of cortisol in your brain.
And you’re able to control your brain wave states for better cognition and a bigger brain.
I have a friend that has worked 12 hours a day for 25 years as a stressed out stock broker. Now in her mid 50’s, she is experiencing many recurring health issues.
She asked me how to start meditating and all I can recommend is baby steps. It is extremely difficult to learn to control your thoughts and come down from a high beta brain wave state.
The next toxic thing you need to stop doing every day is to stop feeding it garbage.
Your brain is only 2-5 pounds, so 3% of your total body weight. But it uses 20% of the calories you eat.
Garbage in, garbage out. Food effects your emotions, your personality, the quality and quantity of your memories, and even WHO you are as a person…
You are what you eat.
You need to feed your brain the right fuel in the right amounts to stay strong and have will power.
The first toxic food you need to cut back on or cut out all together is sugar, and specifically high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
HFCS is in 80% of the foods on the grocery store shelves, but it didn’t exist in our diets until 1975.
The first toxic food you need to cut back on or cut out all together is sugar, and specifically high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). HFCS is in 80% of the foods on the grocery store shelves, but it didn’t exist in our diets until 1975.
And there is a 1 to 1 correlation with the introduction of HFCS and obesity.
Sugar is not a stable source of energy for our brains and we get sugar crashes.
But more than that, it produces the stress chemical adrenaline, which can leave you feeling anxious, moody, exhausted and even depressed.
Sugar forms free radicals in your brain and destroys the communication highway in your brain.
This can have serious repercussion in how well you remember instructions, process ideas and manage your moods.
I recommend 40 grams of sugar a day.
The average American eats 153 grams a day.
Limit the amount of salt you take in every day as well. Our processed, packaged foods pack a ton of salt.
Too much salt has been shown to increase your risk of cognitive decline and creates memory loss.
I recommend no more than 1,500 mg of salt a day. The average American eats 3,400 mg of salt a day.
Let’s get to the good stuff
– the stuff your brain needs.
The first is vitamin B-12. This is found in diary, meats and fish.
If you are vegetarian or vegan, you need so supplement with B-12. B-12 transforms the food you eat into usable energy for your brain to perform.
Up to 40% of older adults have a b-12 deficiency.
This leads to:
- Mental fogginess,
- Memory problems,
And long term, B-12 deficiency can lead to permanent nerve and brain damage and even Alzheimer’s disease.
Another critical nutrient for your brain is DHA, which is found in omega 3 fatty acids.
DHA reduces inflammation in the brain.
Researchers have found that people with behavioral problems, ADHD patients and people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease all have lower than normal DHA levels.
Two studies done on students in Sweden and replicated in South Africa found that giving children DHA supplements improved their grades by 15% in 6 months.
I recommend you aim for 500-1,000 mg of DHA a day through your food – lots of fatty fish, or supplementation.
Speaking of supplements, I believe that 95% of supplements are crap so I want to teach you 2 quick tricks when it comes to buying supplements.
Remember in the news last year when they reported that the bulk of all supplements on the store shelves at GNC, Target and Walmart had ZERO of the ingredients they claimed on the label?
Instead, they found saw dust and rice powder. YUCK!
I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to spend my hard earned money on supplements, I want the best.
So, how do you find the best?
First, you should ask the supplement company for their Certificate of Analysis. This isn’t published, but if you ask, most reputable companies will give it to you.
It is a 3rd party analysis on the after manufactured product that shows you the EXACT ingredients in the supplement and at what dosages.
Speaking of dosages, dosages are one of the MOST important things to look for when it comes to taking supplements.
When you go to the doctor, he gives you a prescription that says what dosage to take how often. Why do they do this?
Because those dosages support the clinical trials.
There is a website called www.examine.com (again, no association) that not only lists the dosages for the supplements, it also shows the actual scientific studies behind the supplements.
Using this website, I can see in 2 minutes what the dosages I need to get the effect I want and to tell if a supplement is complete garbage.
For instance, this is a label of a competitor of ours for a supplement that claims to boost your memory and brain health.
In general, a supplement capsule can hold 750 mg of any blend of ingredients.
This one has a 2 capsule serving so they have 1,500 mg’s to work with.
Well, after just a quick check down the list, I can see that L-Taurine’s dosage is 500-2,000 mg and L-Tyrosine’s dosage is another 500-2,000 mg. I don’t need to look further.
This is a classic case of a company putting small traces of ingredients in their product so they can make claims, but you’re just flushing your money down the toilet.
And a quick comment about the caffeine they put it in it – there is this big push that you should ‘feel’ something when you take a supplement.
You can’t ‘feel’ calcium making your bones stronger nor can I ‘feel’ my prenatal vitamins making me and my baby stronger.
They only put in caffeine so that you ‘feel’ something. Caffeine is NOT a stable source of energy – you know this because of the crash afterwards.
By the way, if you're looking to get on the fast track to boosting your memory to get rid of the damage that occurs in your brain and get rid of the brain fog, be sure to check our "MindBoost Day" I consider it my "secret weapon" for anyone over 40 who notices their memory isn't as good as it used to be
If you want to ‘feel’ something, then just go buy a cup of coffee. It’s a LOT cheaper.
Actually, One customer recently said, “My evaluation after taking it for several days is an overall feeling of good, what of a happy pep back in my step.”
But Every minute you wait is more brain cells dying.
According to the Alzheimer's Association, 1 out of 3 people will get Alzheimer's by the time they are 85.
You know when you have a better memory, you'll feel so good about how easy it is to learn something new
when you remember more names and faces, you'll be more confident in every situation
my mom doesn’t take 20 minutes to decide on a menu item anymore after taking MindBoost and working on the action steps above.
So Here's The Bottom Line With MindBoost Day
I created MindBoost Day with my brother, Russell who again is your moderator on this call so say hi Russell if you’re still with us.
When we first learned of nootropics, or smart supplements as they’re known, we couldn’t find a single supplement that had all the ingredients we wanted and Buying them separately was going to cost me upwards of $175 a month…
Even beyond that, we couldn’t find any that had the right doses that supported the clinical trials like I talked about.
We also knew that the supplement industry skimped on quality…
That’s when we hired a scientific team to give me exactly what we wanted…
Adietary supplement that wasn’t going to break the bank, had the right ingredients and with the highest quality…
Together, we came up with a formula that is our secret to super brain health – it’s all-natural and helps support your brain health, reduces the risk you will get dementia and increases your memory...
Earlier, someone asked about stacks – this is our ‘stack’ in MindBoost Day. we started with Bacopa Monnieri…
With my mindboost day in hand, I wouldn’t have to spend $175 a month on low quality supplements that weren’t going to give me everything I wanted…
One research study working with healthy adults aged 65 and older showed
"Significant improvements in attention, working memory and less anxiety and depression..."
More studies show that the speed of learning, memory capacity and increased energy levels were greatly improved in just 12 week period.
Even more exciting is the second powerful ingredient Rhodiola Rosea… Rhodiola Rosea is from plants like golden root found in very cold regions of the world…
Researchers have found that it has a pronounced effect on mental fatigue as well as increasing overall physical ability.
The strongest data came from Russia and Sweden where they tested the fatigue of students caused by stress during final exams…
Over a 20 day period, the students who took Rhodiola Rosea got 8.4% better grades than the students taking the placebo…Another study with night shift physicians found that taking Rhodiola Rosea had a clear anti-fatigue effect, in some cases as much as 20% improvement in performance during a 24 hour shift!
In addition, no negative side effects were reported in any of the case studies...
We also added the active P5P form of Vitamin B6.
My mom has recently been in the RECODE program put on by Dr. Dale Bredesen to help her reverse the signs of dementia she’s showing.
She cared for her boyfriend for an intense year when cancer riddled his body and then he finally passed.
Grief is a terrible thing for your memory.
My mom had very high levels of homosystene and this directly effects the hypocampus.
“A group of experts reviewed literature evidence from the last 20 years and they concluded “that elevated plasma total homocysteine is a modifiable risk factor for development of cognitive decline, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease in older persons.”
“High levels of homocysteine have been linked to memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. The active P5P form of B6 brings down those levels.” Amylee Amos from the Amos Institute
We also included a proprietary blend of vitamin B-12, that I talked about before and folate – not folic acid. Folic acid is synthesized.
Folate is the natural form from food and is more easily absorbed.
It has been shown to increase cognitive function and reduce the risk and rate of brain shrinkage.
A recent study from Oxford University showed over a 2 year period that– that’s 53% less brain decay in only 2 years…
And finally we put Vitamin D3 in our MindBoost Day. Over 50% of people over 65 are Vitamin D deficient.
Receptors for vitamin D are found throughout the brain and play a critical role in making memories.
A team of researchers at Tufts University in Boston analyzed vitamin D blood levels in over 1,000 people over the age of 65 to determine its relationship to cognitive function.
Out of the 1,000 study participants, 65% had “insufficient” or “deficient” levels of the sunshine vitamin.
These people performed worse on tests of executive function…[ (such as reasoning, flexibility, and perceptual complexity),] attention, and processing speed compared with those who had optimal levels of vitamin D3.
With the help of this potent blend of scientifically proven, memory boosting Ingredients, your brain may be able to function more effectively, clearing a path for your thoughts and fighting against the brain shrinkage…
What does this mean for you?
You can repair some of the past damage, you can help improve your memory today, and you can help prevent future dementia…
And of course, we used the right dosages…
AND manufactured in facilities that follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) set by the United States Food and Drug Administration…
I know why the supplement industry skimps on quality. Its’ VERY expensive.
But we don’t care about the money. We care about fixing people’s memories. We’ve both been there.
My brother had a heart attack a few years ago and the prescription drugs wrecked havick memory. he’s come miles from where he was not but 2 years ago.
It is approved for vegetarians and it’s gluten free, even in the capsules…
MindBoost™ Day contains no fillers, artificial flavors or preservatives, and there are no stimulants like Caffeine in it. Let’s talk about that real quick.
Everyone expects to “feel” something but in reality, it’s very hard to feel your memory getting better. Just like when you take calcium, you can’t ‘feel your bones getting stronger, but they are.
That’s why we give you the tests. Just like with calcium, they can measure your bone density to make sure the calcium is working, we give you tests to make sure the MindBoost is working.
Because if it’s not, we don’t want you to waste your money.
You can pause and even HELP reverse some of the effects of aging with the right ingredients at the right doses … and that’s exactly what we created with MindBoost Day…
