Alzheimer's is the cleverest thief. Not only does she steal from you, but she steals the very thing you need to remember what's been stolen. - Jerad Kintz

Alzheimer's disease is now the third leading cause of death in the United States, following only cardiovascular disease and cancer. These are not scare tactics, they are simply the hard facts.
There are approximately 5.2 million Americans with AD,and that's not taking into account the numbers of the younger generation that will contact it at some point....we need some clarity on this disease.
A FULL LIFE...NOW FORGOTTEN
What happens when...

You've worked your whole life trying to provide for loved ones.
You've cultivated friendships and seen your children get married.
You've celebrated the births of your grand children, and you've built a career or body of work that you're proud of.
You've lived with a strong faith, and a partner who has been by your side for much of that, so what happens when you...
just... don't... remember it?
The Fallout
That beautiful home that you once were so proud of and had painstakingly created as a safe space for you and your family? It's now scary, with all of it's strange sounds, and smells... all the areas that aren't familiar to you any more.
You can't remember how to do daily tasks like operate the stove, or use the washer and dryer.
You can't remember how to lock your door or start your car, among other things.
The children that you adore and would give your life for? You don't know their faces or voices. They scare you.
The husband that you love and trust, you try to fight off when he comes near you. He is a stranger to you, why is he here in your home?

This is the meanest trick of Alzheimers...the loss of the essence of life-a good life, strong and well lived, just...erased. It's beyond senseless.
The loss of dignity and freedom is catastrophic, not only to the Alzheimer's sufferer, but to everyone within the circle of that loved ones life, and it can all be caused by...MOLD. Yes, you heard me right, mold.
If I'm honest, as I sit here writing this, Alzheimers scares me. In fact, it terrifies me. It's still an unknown, and still getting the upper hand with the medical profession..but that may not be the case for long.
Huge answers are already coming to light, that give us hope. Hope for prevention, and hope for taking back, what's been so cruelly stolen from us.
A new breed of doctors...
Doctors like Dr. Dale Bredesen of the Buck Institute and creator of the Bredesen Protocol are making tremendous progress by looking at Alzheimers disease as a group of different causes under one big umbrella.

To this date the "cures" for Alzheimer's have been largely unsuccessful. That would make complete sense if, as the doctor says, this disease is actually caused by many things and can't be treated as one.
This unique way of looking at Alzheimers has allowed him to classify 6 different types of the disease, and then create comprehensive protocols to target each specific type of Alzheimers, and it's working...
He's published a number of case studies of patients who have successfully had their Alzheimers Disease cognitive decline reversed.
Cause or Response?
He believes that some of the things commonly thought to cause Alzheimer's are actually a response to the real causes of the disease.
For instance most people have heard of -Beta amyloid plaque in relation to Alzheimers.

Until recently the only thought within the medical community about beta amyloids were that they were part of the cause, but Dr. Bredesen feels that they are actually the body's defense response to the real culprits!
Specifically in this case:
- Stachybotrys also called "black mold"
- Aspergillus,
- Penicillium
- Chaetomium
These all make neurotoxins-MOLD, that damage your brain, and your brains response is to make amyloid. That's a totally new way of looking at this issue.
One of the most interesting types of Alzheimers (according to the typing system that he created) is known as Type 3 AD (Alzheimer's disease) also called "Inhalation Alzheimer's" by Dr. Bredesen.
What's interesting about Type 3 is that it's totally different then the other types, and it needs to be treated differently.
Most people have heard about the genetic "Alzheimer's gene APOE4", which doubles your risk of inheriting Alzheimers, yet type 3 are generally APOE4 negative.
Not only that, but the age group is in the late 40's to early 50's, which is much younger then the other types of Alzheimers.
Some of the symptoms of toxic Alzheimer's 3 are:
- trouble with planning,
- trouble with calculation,
- trouble with visual perception
- trouble finding words
- increased sensitivity to smell
- metallic taste
This is literally a form of toxic Alzheimer’s disease, caused by exposure to specific toxins overtime.
Your brain makes the amyloid to bind to these toxins, whether they're chemical toxins like mercury or copper, or biotoxins like mycotoxins, that is...you guessed it ...mold-related toxins.

We already know how dangerous mold can be, but the fact that we now know biotoxins can cause Alzheimer’s is scary, because in our world we have them everywhere.
Which toxins are the worst?
Neurotoxins such as okra toxin A, and Trichothecenes, Aflatoxin, Gliotoxin... These are all biological toxins produced by molds.
The type 3's are much more impaired, and usually their scans are more abnormal then the other types of AD.
They have less of a brain "shrinking" and more of random damage, similar to other people who have toxic exposures.
They also don’t show the same inflammatory response like the other types but they have a long chronic exposure to things like mycotoxins or chemo toxins and they respond by producing amyloid.
A 2014 study found fungal macromolecules in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients, Additionally, a 2015 study found fungal infections in brains of 10 Alzheimer’s patients...mold.
What should we do if we suspect toxins?
If you suspect that you've been exposed to one or more of the toxic molds above, get your environment tested. You can even get mold tests online now.
If you find that you've been exposed to mold, you need to remove yourself from the environment and seek treatment.
An example of the steps in the Bredesen treatment program based on his 2014 study for type 3 include several of the following:
- Take brain boosting supplements – We recommend the natural neural protector and brain booster found here >>>>MindBoost
- Hormone replacement: thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, pregnenolone, cortisol
- Reduce toxins – Toxins are the cause of type 3 AD, affecting your mitochondria, and metabolic processes.
- Metal chelation: DMSA, ALA, EDTA
- Get quality sleep – Get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep
- Exercise everyday-even if it's a short yoga workout or a power walk, it has been linked to a reduced risk of developing AD.
